Cabinets

Cabinets that feel like furniture, tailored to your life

When cabinetry is designed like fine furniture, it earns its place piece by piece—a paneled fridge that reads like an armoire, an island that feels like a table, a bar that tucks perfectly under the stairs. Door profiles, finishes, and interior storage are all chosen with your rituals in mind, so the drawer that holds your everyday dishes, the pull‑out for baking sheets, and the cabinet that hides your small appliances feel purpose‑built for the way you move through the room.

For homeowners, that looks like:

  • A kitchen planned around how you really cook, gather, and land at the end of the day
  • Storage that quietly eliminates daily irritations—crowded counters, dead corners, and overstuffed drawers
  • A range of options from furniture‑grade custom cabinetry to beautifully made, thoughtfully designed pre‑designed lines that arrive quickly and still feel special

  • A cabinetry studio where you can walk clients through real samples and storage solutions instead of flipping through catalogs

Custom, pre‑designed, and everything in between

Every cabinet project requires its own balance of craftsmanship, timing, and investment. We offer a full spectrum of cabinetry—from furniture‑grade custom pieces crafted in Amish country to pre‑designed lines that can often be delivered in one to two weeks—so you never have to choose between beauty and practicality.

Custom Cabinets

For kitchens and rooms where you want every line, finish, and interior detail to feel intentional, custom cabinetry is where we focus. These are the cabinets that become part of your home’s architecture: tailored door styles, specialty woods and paints, metal and glass accents, and interiors planned down to the last tray, pull‑out, and appliance garage.

Custom cabinets become part of your home's architecture.

A Meaningful Investment

Custom cabinetry is a meaningful investment in your home and the way it feels to live there, and it’s especially powerful for:

  • Comprehensive kitchen remodels where you’re rethinking the room from the studs out
  • Showpiece islands, bars, and pantries that anchor open‑plan living spaces
  • Spa‑level bathrooms and primary suites where storage and serenity need to coexist

Uniquely You

Custom work also gives you room to honor the quirks of your home and your habits—the odd corner that becomes a favorite coffee nook, the tall cabinet that hides every small appliance, the vanity drawer that fits your morning routine perfectly.

In the end, you’re not just choosing cabinets; you’re shaping the way the room welcomes you every day, with storage that feels effortless and finishes that quietly elevate everything around them.

Pre‑Designed Cabinets

For projects that move quickly or rooms that don’t call for fully custom fixtures, our pre‑designed cabinetry offers a quieter kind of luxury: curated door styles, finishes, and sizes chosen because they perform beautifully in real homes. Lead times are shorter, the investment is smaller, and the result still feels far from “builder basic.”

Design is not just what it looks like. Design is how it works.

Pre‑designed lines are ideal when:

You’re updating a kitchen or bath and want a refined, cohesive look without the fully custom timeline and price

  • You need dependable quality for a secondary home, guest suite, or kids’ bath
  • You’re a contractor or designer looking for a go‑to cabinet solution that supports your standards and your schedule

A Simple Solution

Pre‑designed cabinetry lets you move quickly without feeling like you’ve compromised, pairing thoughtful design with the kind of reliability that makes daily life easier, not fussier. You still get a kitchen or bath that looks considered and quietly elevated—just on a simpler path, with trusted options that slip naturally into the way you and your clients already live.

Our cabinetry process, thoughtful guidance

Cabinetry projects move fast once orders are placed, so our process is built to give you clarity and confidence up front. You can expect a streamlined version of our Design Peace of Mind approach—centered specifically on cabinets and the materials that support them.

Step 1

Consultation

We start with a focused conversation—what’s working, what isn’t, and what a “win” would feel like in your kitchen, bath, or closet. You share photos, rough dimensions, and how you use the space today so we can begin to see the possibilities.
Step 2

Measure

Using our measurement guide, you or your contractor document the room. These dimensions let us begin design options and preliminary pricing without slowing your project down.
Step 3

Design & Revisions

We map out your cabinetry: layout, zones, and interior storage, then refine the design together until it reflects the way you actually live. This is where solutions like pull‑outs, tray dividers, pantry systems, hidden trash and recycling, kid‑height drawers, wet bars, and record or wardrobe storage come into play.
Step 4

Check Measure

Before anything is ordered, we confirm. For Reno–Tahoe projects, that includes a Wide Canvas site measure so the final order reflects real‑world conditions, not just a sketch on paper.
Step 5

Order & Delivery

Once your design and finishes are approved, we place the order, shepherd it through production, and deliver it to your door. For local projects, we receive and check in your cabinets, inspect for accuracy and damage, and coordinate delivery timing with you and your installer so the pieces arrive when the space is ready.
Step 6

Installation Support

We do not install cabinets—but we don’t disappear once the truck unloads. You receive detailed cabinetry shop drawings that show exactly how everything is meant to fit, and our team remains only a phone call away as questions arise during installation.

For full‑service design clients, this cabinetry work is woven into a deeper exploration of your home as a whole: cabinets, finishes, furnishings, and lighting all orchestrated so each room feels like part of a larger, intentional story.

Kitchens first, then the rest of your home

Most stories in our studio begin with a kitchen—the place where your morning coffee, weeknight dinners, and big family celebrations all happen. From there, cabinetry naturally extends into the other rooms that touch your daily rituals.

We often design and supply cabinetry for:

Transitional Kitchen Remodel with custom white cabinets, teal herringbone tile backsplash, built-in window seat with colorful cushion and pillows, and floral window valance

Kitchens

Islands that feel like furniture, generous pantries, coffee and cocktail bars, appliance garages, and storage walls that keep life tucked gracefully out of sight

Walk‑in closets or walkthrough wardrobes, built‑in dressers, and custom storage that turn getting ready into a small daily luxury

Great rooms and beyond

Fireplace mantels and surrounds, media walls, record cabinets, window seats, mudroom storage, and home office cabinetry that help the whole house feel cohesive

Whether you’re updating a single room or considering whole‑home cabinetry, the through line is the same: approachable luxury that feels welcoming, not precious.

Inside the Wide Canvas cabinetry studio

Our studio in downtown Reno is designed as a calm, focused alternative to big‑box showrooms—more like stepping into a thoughtfully edited library of options than a warehouse of choices.

During your visit, you can:

  • Open and close real cabinet displays to feel how doors and drawers move
  • Compare door styles, edge profiles, wood species, and paint finishes side by side
  • Explore specialty doors, including metal frames and glass inserts, to add subtle shimmer or texture
  • Try hardware in your hand, rather than guessing from photos—knobs, pulls, and backplates that are as comfortable to use as they are beautiful to look at
  • Layer in tile, countertops, wallpaper, fabric, rugs, and furniture so your cabinets feel connected to the rest of the room from the very beginning

We’re open by appointment only, which allows us to give you our undivided attention and tailor each visit to what you need most—whether that’s decisive selections in a single sitting or a slower, more exploratory session.

If our building’s physical access isn’t right for you, you’ll find a link to our accessibility policy in the site footer, and we’re happy to meet virtually or at an alternate, accessible location.

  • For homeowners, we offer:

    • Guidance on when to choose custom cabinetry and when a pre‑designed line is a better fit
    • A single, calm place to make cabinet and key finish decisions with concierge‑level support
    • Detailed cabinetry drawings and clear communication that give you and your contractor confidence as the project moves into construction
  • For contractors and designers, we offer:

    • Cabinetry‑only packages with trade pricing, detailed specs, and hardware information that make installs smoother
    • Access to our showroom for joint client meetings and selections
    • A collaborative partner who understands that your reputation is on the line right alongside ours

We do not provide ready‑to‑assemble cabinetry, and we don’t compete on lowest‑possible price. Instead, we focus on cabinetry that feels good to live with, stands up to daily use, and reflects the quality of the homes and projects we work on—locally and across the continental U.S., where we can ship cabinets directly.
