Before you visit Two Chicks for breakfast or lunch, you might want to check out their website, especially the "Our Story" page. The fun and affectionate way the restaurant introduces its staff makes you want to head right over for a meal. Fresh ingredients and homemade dishes add to the homey feeling, and the restaurant has many rave reviews online. With original touches like strawberry and blueberry whipped butter to slather on the pancakes, veggie fritters, and butternut squash hot cereal, there is sure to be something delightful for everybody.

With two locations to choose from, Midtown and South, many consider Two Chicks one of the best breakfast restaurants in Reno.

Peg's Glorified Ham n Eggs

Peg's Glorified Ham n Eggs is a family-owned and -operated business since 1999. Known for its excellent service and friendly staff, this restaurant's philosophy is to over-deliver in both quality and quantity. The fast service, delicious food, and large portion size have made Peg's a local favorite. The Hawaiian breakfasts are a consistent customer favorite, along with the Monte Cristo and the homemade chile relleno and eggs.

While Peg's has expanded to eight locations in Nevada, including three in Reno, all locations are family-owned and -operated. They are open seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and there is outside patio seating available.

Rattlesnake Club

Perhaps the most unique aspect of the upscale Rattlesnake Club is the greenhouse on the property, where they grow the produce they use in their entrees. There is a choice of patio or indoor dining, and the patio is especially kid-friendly for families going out for dinner.

Your dinner starts with a basket featuring three different types of homemade breads. One of the most popular menu items is the shrimp and grits, which are creamy and cheesy. The fish and chips are fresh and flavorful and come in generous servings. Among the many unique dishes are the rattlesnake tacos, the game hen with turnips, and shrimp cups.

Great Full Gardens

Great Full Gardens is a healthy fast-food alternative. People with food sensitivity or dietary restrictions will appreciate the wholesome food choices, such as grass-fed meat, wild-caught fish, and organic fruits and vegetables. There are even vegetarian, vegan, Paleo, soy-free, and gluten-free options available. The restaurant's on-site greenhouse guarantees the freshness of the produce, and their vegan homemade soups are available by the quart. Raw foods and raw desserts are popular choices, including a cheesecake made with nuts and fruit. With three locations in Reno, Great Full Gardens is a good place for anybody who prefers a whole-food diet.

Campo

Campo is a friendly Italian restaurant that changes its menu daily. The restaurant offers a variety of handmade pasta and authentic wood-fired pizzas. Campo's homemade bread, including the delicious focaccia, is also baked in the wood ovens, and the team cures their own salami. Fresh ingredients and daily-pulled mozzarella make this a pizza place like no other. Order a bottle of wine and sit outside on the patio overlooking the Truckee River and enjoy a meal in a relaxed, romantic atmosphere.

Midtown Eats

Midtown Eats is a family-friendly restaurant that offers a wide variety of foods, from their signature organic burgers to chicken, ribs, and pasta. The restaurant is proud to feature many local products, including some from Round's Bakery and Hyde's Microgreens. The cocktails are amazing and pair well with many menu items.

Popular menu selections include the blistered shishito peppers, which are a combination of slightly sweet and slightly spicy, and the mac and cheese with bacon.  Their signature burgers may become your new favorite.

Shanghai Bistro

Shanghai Bistro offers an authentic Shanghai-style menu that fans of Chinese food find irresistible. Many residents consider Shanghai Bistro to be the best Chinese restaurant in the Reno area, and the chef's specials are impressive and delicious. The reasonable prices, friendly staff, and generous portions make the wonderful food even better.

The steamed sea bass with scallops is a popular chef's special, and the beef tripe and belly pork are other customer favorites. While the restaurant doesn't currently offer delivery, there's a convenient online ordering system, and your food will be ready for pick-up at the time you choose.

Wild River Grille

Wild River Grille is on the River Walk in downtown Reno. It's situated right along the Truckee River with a wonderful spacious patio for outside dining with dog-friendly seating. The restaurant itself is inside the Riverside Hotel building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places

The Wild River Grille uses locally sourced ingredients for its delectable dishes. The pan-roasted halibut is one of their specialties, along with caprese bruschetta and crab and salmon cakes. For dessert, the Truckee River Mud or bread pudding top the list. Enjoy a fun, relaxed atmosphere and a Summer Dinner Concert Series that features live bands while you eat or socialize.

Bimini Steakhouse

When date night comes around, you might enjoy a trip to Bimini Steakhouse in Peppermill. One of the most popular steakhouses in Reno, Bimini offers quality steak, chops, and seafood plus a wine list of over 1,000 bottles. This fine dining experience will give you a night to relish with elegant decor, delicious gourmet food, and a classic cocktail menu. Don't forget to end your meal with one of their fancy desserts, such as a black forest tuile or strawberries Romanoff.
