What it takes design an extraordinary room

What it takes design an extraordinary room

There's more to this quote than fits on the graphic, and I think it's worth sharing.

"The creative adult is the child who survived after the world tried killing them, making them “grown-up”. The creative adult is the child who survived the blandness of schooling, the unhelpful words of bad teachers, and the nay-saying ways of the world.

The creative adult is in essence simply that, a child."

I've designed lots of rooms for lots of clients, and I've noticed that those who get the best results, the extraordinary rooms that really grab you when you walk into them, are brave - the way that kids are brave. They are unapologetic about what they like, they don't pay attention to the unhelpful opinions of others, and they are willing to try crazy (I mean creative) things. And, as an interior designer, I'm right there with them. If I sound like the kind of designer, book a free design consultation.

She didn't know it, but Jackie Lopey's days as an advertising executive were numbered when she bought and renovated a 1950's bungalow. She soon went back to school and started her own design studio. Jackie is an award-winning, California certified interior designer and the founder of Wide Canvas.

As a California Certified Interior Designer, Jackie Lopey is qualified to plan, design, and document nonstructural, non-seismic interior work—including space planning, finish and fixture specifications, and interior construction documents suitable for permit submittal by clients and their licensed design professionals—within existing buildings in the state. In Nevada, Wide Canvas provides design consulting focused on selections and visualizations, helping you choose cabinetry, surfaces, fixtures, furnishings, and finishes that fit your style and budget. The team develops clear concept layouts, mood boards, and 3D views to communicate design intent, and then collaborates with licensed design and construction professionals so they can translate those ideas into compliant plans and a successful build.
