About Alder

• Available with knots for a rustic look. Or, without knots for a refined look.
• Light, soft hardwood with a medium density and a close-grain.
• It has a uniform texture and subtly varying wavy grain pattern. 
• Similar appearance to Cherry, but less dent-resistant.
• Less expensive than Cherry.
• Knotty Alder is a good alternative to Knotty Pine; it is harder and accepts stain more uniformly.
• Alder lends a natural, rich look to cabinetry; Knotty Alder is distinctively rustic.
